ENG. SAMMY MBURU APOINTED ACTING MANAGING DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL WATER CONSERVATION AND PIPELINE CORPORATION

Eng. Sammy Mburu has been appointed as the acting Managing Director of National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation effective 27th June 2018. Eng. Mburu was formerly the Chief Manager Technical Services at the Lake Victor South Water Services Board and has over 30 years’ experience in the water sector.

While introducing Eng. Mburu to the senior management, Board Chairman Hon. Dr. Julius Kones urged them and all staff to accord him all the necessary support and cooperation in the common endeavor to achieve the Corporation’s strategic and operational objectives.Meeting chaired by Board Chair Dr. Kones with senior management.

Dr. Kones assured the new Ag. MD of his full support and that of the Board saying team work is critical in this period of transition, where the Corporation is set to transit to an Authority. The transition is part of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation’s Rapid Results Initiatives – (RRI) that is to be accomplished within 100 days from the month of June, 2018. The General Managers briefed Eng. Mburu on the progress of work in their respective departments and projects being implemented by the Corporation.

On his part, the Ag. MD thanked the Board Chairman for according him the opportunity to serve in the Corporation. He urged management to work with limited resources to achieve targets. He added that Human resource is crucial for any organization to achieve its targets.

Eng. Mburu added that as key players in the water sector, we need to come up with proper strategies to cut the cycle of floods- drought which is a major challenge in the sector.
